I welcome you all to the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering.

The Bachelor degree program – BE (E&C) was started in the year 2005 with an initial intake of 60 students in the department of electronics and communication engineering of BGS Institute of technology. This intake was enhanced to 120 in the year 2007. The post graduate programme -M.Tech (VLSI & Embedded System) was introduced in the year 2010, with the intake of 18 students. Both the programs were running under Visvesvaraya Technological University, but later during 2018-19 transferred to newly started Adi Chunchanagiri University of BG Nagara, Nagamangala. The department has spacious building with large classrooms, laboratory halls, Staff rooms, library halls. The laboratories are equipped with the instruments, computers, UPS, power supplies, digital storage oscilloscopes and the necessary software and hardware modules. Research facilities and research guides exist in the area of image processing, VLSI design, embedded system, and wirelesscommunication. Large number of students is being placed in reputed companies. The department is regularly organising national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, industrial visits, faculty development programs for the benefit of students and teachers. The department has implemented the Choice - Based Credit System of Outcome -Based Education which enables the versatile development of the student under the umbrella of Adichunchanagiri University. Proctoral System is adopted in order to counsel each student with respect to academic progress, carrier guidance, personality development, placement and training. The graduates from this department are performing well in different companies and organisations both at the national and international levels.
